Would this save fuel? (Highway Drafting)?
My highway is 70mph and driving it hurts my gas mileage. Would it help if I pulled up behind a big rig and draft like they do in Nascar?

Yes, buts its dangerous and you’ll probably die. You have like 0.2 seconds to react.
You’re better off checking to make sure your tires are properly inflated and slowing down. 70mph is supposed to be the MAX speed, not the minimum =) I’m sure those big rigs aren’t going 70 anyway.
it helps with the wind deflection, so yeah, i mean, if youre at your last few drops of gas and trying to make it to the exit, it will help…
…but im thinking its not worth it….
thats called tail gating, and you get pulled over for that for a reason… like it being dangerous….
It might till you drive under a trailer then you wont care you will be dead.
Being a motorcycle rider – I’ve tried this.
It DOESN’T work!
I can feel where the wind hits and you have to be 2 to 6 feet away from the truck in order to get “inside” the draft. Way too close to be able to do _anything_ and remain in control.
Doing general / typical tailgating behind the truck will actually worsen your gas mileage as the air is still settling like rapids in water. Think of a boat – it will perform better going over smooth water than over choppy water. The air behind the truck is VERY choppy until you get about 25-30 feet behind it.
