Would adding an MSD Sport Compact box have any real gains in performance? I hear it also saves fuel ?

If your car is so old that it has a distributor, it may help a bit. I had a Cap Discharge system on two cars, and it helps make the points last longer. I didn’t notice an great improvement in MPG.
