Comments on will it save fuel if i open my car window instead of air-cond?
putting your air con on will reduce your fuel consumption by about 10%, so yes opening your window will save you money and the planet
yes it will save some fuel becouse with the ac running it puts more of a load on the engine which uses more fuel
it will not help you a lot. the main thing is to drive your car at that speed which you can handle easily. prevent from too much acceleration or braking
they tested it on myth busters and there is almost no difference, because opening a window creates drag which means wastes gas too
i disagree to an extent. depending on the age of the vehicle that you are driving. todays vehicles are very efficient in the way they opperate. i don’t believe that using the AC would be as bad as the drag from the wind blowing into your open windows rather than using the built in aerodynamics the car was meant to have with the windows rolled up
Yes. Ur AC uses energy which comes from the motor. On hot days days it smart to open Ur car windows when u first start off and after like a few minutes u can roll Ur windows up.
Under some circumstances yes, the AC does put a load on the engine, but at speed the drag from open windows hurts too.
The bottom line – you won’t save enough to justify being uncomfortable.
