No it won’t actually it may burn more gas when going uphill. The best way to save gas is coasting to a stop and take it easy on the gas when pulling out.

your engine is usually more efficient around 2000 to 3000 rpm. Also, city driving will wear down your gas mileage ALOT faster than highway driving. IT is due to the force to gain acceleration over the force of static friction.

Keeping your tires at optimal pressure will save you some gas too

It uses less gas per minute, but takes you longer to get there. In the end it doesn’t make much difference.

The lower the rpm, the lower the amount of gas used…
and this is at any rpm

that depends on the engines power curve. if you have small amounts of torque at low rpm, then you are basically lugging the engine, and that will reduce fuel economy. on the other hand if you have a lot of low speed torque, then yes, fuel economy will improve at lower rpms. however to just select a particular rpm to stay under is self defeating overall. best to drive intelligently and smoothly as this will give you the best fuel economy.

depending on what kind of car and engine you have – it may save gas or it may not. same answer for is “it bad for your car”. older cars with non-variable valve gear are not very efficient below 2000 because of the valve overlap. this overlap (both valves open at the same time) allows combustion products to blow back and contaminate intake valves and possibly fuel injectors as well. So – if you have a car with fixed valve timing i say keep it at 2500.

Many people think that the slower they accelerate, the better gas mileage they’re going to get. Unfortunately, extremely slow acceleration can bog down your engine and make it run less efficiently – thus wasting fuel. So, instead of slamming the accelerator to the floor or barely even touching it, try and find a nice happy medium so you can achieve a moderate acceleration.

YES IT WILL.

DRIVING AT 65 MPH WOULD BE AROUND 1800 TO 2000 RPM’S AND IT WILL SAVE A LOT OF GAS.

I DO IT ALL THE TIME.
