Checking your tire pressure and keeping your car tuned up is very important.

When you have no real ideas of your own, you attack everyone else’s ideas as being “unrealistic.” That’s McCain in a nutshell – not an original idea in that whole big group of rich white men. Imagine that!

ILuvmyhubby @ 7:33 pm #

Because most people have enough intelligence to know to do these things already.

BJtheGreat @ 8:18 pm #

Because he was using it as a way to explain his energy plan.
Its like, I have a way to Make everyone a Millionaire in 5 years. Just save every 5$ bill you have and put it into a separate bank account. =Just not logical result to such a high promise.

Jim P @ 8:41 pm #

Who knows? But McCain is very good at selecting little phrases out of Obama’s entire speeches and plans and making fun of them. Even BJ thinks that Obama’s ‘plan’ is nothing but these kind of things. This is the kind of lying that wins elections.

mutantalbino @ 9:31 pm #

I think it’s because it demonstrates that Obama does not have a grasp of the magnitude of the problem.

It’s kind of like telling someone who broke their leg in three places to take an aspirin.

Whiny liberal crybabies! @ 10:11 pm #

get serious!
I am an ASE mechanic.
Cars for the last 15 years use 100,000 mile spark plugs and are fuel efficient because of the computers in them.
You cant go out and get a tuneup every week!

Keep your tire pressure at recommended rates is something you are supposed to do anyway!

how does this lower the price of fuel at the pump?
lololol

thedude jr @ 11:07 pm #

because mccain has nothing , or everything depending on the day

kenamaddox @ 11:37 pm #

Come on you got to admit its pretty funny. The Democrats closed the latest session and left for their vacations effectively blocking a vote on any energy bills and left us to fend for ourselves again. Then Barack tells us to check our tire pressure and get a tune up. lol

Liberals love America! @ 11:38 pm #

ID F’n K!

Does McCain have any ideas anymore besides whining about Obama??

It’s obvious to anyone with more than two working brain cells that checking tire pressure isn’t the entirety of Obama’s energy plan for America, it was just something that he threw out there that anyone at meeting could do as soon as they got home, or anyone in America with a car for that matter.

Yes it’s not the ultimate solution and no one was trying to tout it as such, but it does make your vehicle a little more fuel-efficient (Meaning you don’t have to buy as much gas.) and every little bit helps.

John is a talking head, if you shut off the microphone of the Republican party he will be a mute. He can’t explain why he says a damn thing, he is only regurgitating the bullet points, most of which he doesn’t understand at all. It is really pretty sad.

captainspalding3 @ 12:47 am #

He must be a Harvard grad to formulate that plan. I like his other proposals too.

To fix the economy-people can get jobs.
Foreign policy-be nice to foreigners.
To combat obesity-people can eat less.

He’s quite the visionary.

d @ 1:22 am #

because it`s funny

bootedbylibsx2 @ 2:22 am #

He is assuming, apparently rightly so in the case of most liberals, that the average car owner is to stupid to do this without guidance from the government. I don’t really think he’s making fun of it. He’s just pointing out the obvious idiocy of it.

The Warlock @ 3:07 am #

It’s a touch of humor, showing just how silly the notion is. Maintaining proper tire pressure is just the way you maintain a car. Yes, it does improve gas mileage…but if you’re checking tire pressure on SUV’s you are still helping to keep gas prices high. It’s not a plan to lower gas prices, it’s just reminding people of something they already know (or should).

Until we can take the speculators on Wall Street out of the equation, we’re going to continue to have high gas prices for a while…there is no quick fix for this.

John McCain has nothing original to offer. He doesn’t even show leadership. He is so jealous of Obama he could spit.

McCain sucks
Obama for president

=) @ 3:13 am #

Because Mccain knows best!

Jeff Smoker @ 3:27 am #

I agree that those are important but for Obama to suggest that by doing so we would save as much gas as we would get by drilling is ludicrous and just an outright lie.

jerome2all @ 3:55 am #

Because he wants to be laughing for as long as 10 years while the American people wait for the oil companies to get one drop of oil from offshore drilling…

Melqart @ 4:14 am #

mcCan is old and not getting it ,I feel sorry for d old man
