why does my 2007 Honda Accord 4 cylinder get bad gas mileage?
I have a 2007 Accord sedan, 4 cylinder. I am suppose to get 21 city, 31 highway. I have a 17.1 gallon tank. I believe I am filling up every 6 days and get less than 300 miles per tank. I got rid of my Jeep so I can save on gas but now I feel like this isn’t THAT much better. How do I get 21 mpg city? I am trying to not hit the accelerator too hard from now on….

Gentle control inputs….avoid the brakes when you can and don’t mash the accelerator. Nervous twitchy drivers are never good with either fuel economy or performance.
Make sure the thing is in good operating condition as well.
well y did u get rid of ur jeep lolol. 21-31 is the epa estimated on the vehicle lol my truck i hit 18 city and 26 highway and thank good lolol but no serious the epa is that standard or maybe the car needs to be maintenance up.
tune it up learn how to drive smart learnhow to brake less take off slower coast more learn which fuel gets you the best mileage by testing a few brands and octanes
Obvious answer but have you checked your tire pressures, 10% under-inflated tires will decrease your fuel efficiency by 10%. Apart from this check your air filters, plugs and wires.
And you could always lighten up on the gas pedal, fast starts and high cruising speed kill your mpg
When you are driving don’t use the brake as much. You also cant speed in a accord makes your gas mileage worse. i Drive one also. Anything over 60 will start eating away at your tank. and result to having shitty gas mileage
