Why are people so worried about gas prices, but then?
turn around and support the Dems RAISING taxes – its all money and if its not in your hands it will be in someones hands. I would rather have the choice to conserve gas then to have no choice in more taxes being taken out of my paycheck

what about a global carbon tax
We are in debt and we have to raise taxes! Otherwise the Chinese are going to own us more than they already do. I challenge you to try to not purchase Chinese when you go out and shop. check your tags and labels.
Same reason Repub hate taxes but support spending…why not look for solutions instead of blaming the other side.
Alternatives exist
Hello, many people are concern about gas increase because when gas increases every single goods will follow.
Well here’s my reasoning: There really is no reason for the gas prices. The barrels are about the same price as it was when it was $1.90 USD, a few cents higher (though my sources might be wrong). Whereas taxes, it’s never just so someone will get more money. There are normally reasons for tax raises. I think most people see the gas as the companies getting more money, whereas the taxes are for something good.
Same reason the Democrats tell the Detroit motors unions they support big vehicles that will keep the car companies strong in turn keeping their jobs… And then tell the environmental activists that SUV’s need to go.
Same reason John Kerry and his wife own multiple SUVs and claim they are the cause of global warming…
Democrats will say whatever they need to say to get votes.
It’s hard to conserve fuel in my line of work. I am a carpenter and my crew uses 5 trucks a day. We go through about 700 dollars a week in gas. 6 years ago when we started it was only about 300 dollars a week. We pay way too much for gas. It is absolutely ridiculous.
well sway, the answer is simple. most of the people who label themselves as democrats these days are willing to give up their freedoms and their incomes to big government. that is, as long as the president has a D after her name…god help us all if that happens…and i’m an atheist!
Taxes need to be raised. The Republicans have spent money we don’t have. It’s like maxing out your credit card and then handing it to your children and telling them it’s your problem now, you pay it off. Our massive debt has to be paid off through taxes, I’m sorry, it’s true.
Think about this; the taxes you and your children will be paying in the future you’ll pay and receive nothing in return for it, those dollars will go to pay the interest on the bonds the Chinese currently own. Foreign governments finance our debt and charge interest. Do you like to be in debt? I don’t.
gas prices is ridiculous. taxes are alil reckless also but i can live knowing i get that back at the beginning of the year with the refunds. the average price over here in the NY area is about $3.12. I push a small suv which use to take 40 dollars to fill now its about 60. i need my vehicle to get to work but i might just find a way to commute with mass transit or find another job where i can commute with public transit.
A bit confused here? Gas taxes are paid at the pump, and while it may seem your whole paycheck goes there, its not taken out of your paycheck.
I’m afraid supporting the war has made raising taxes on singles making more than $250,000 and couples making more than $500,000 a year targets for a tax increase.
I can’t honestly say I’m sorry if you make that much and have to pay more.
You can still feel good about conservation, at that income you probably don’t care what your mpg is in your Porsche, but oil is still a non renewable energy source.
Tax on gas isn’t making the price go up, its the way the oil traders have built up a near panic that has caused the price of crude to rise with a subsequent rise in the passed along cost to the consumer.
There is little stability in the oil markets even though production is slightly higher than it used to be. Instablity in the oil regions has always been a problem, only recently has it worked so that even rumors can lead to huge fluctuations in the market.
This is far more complex than your rather simplistic take on it.
because 3.10 a gallon adds up.and how do we pay for the deficit bush has called without taxes.what we borrow more money from china to pay for our debt
Taxes are going to be raised. 400 billion dollar deficits will have to be paid by someone eventually. Don’t kid yourself, like any other debt you can pay it now or later when it has collected interest. All of congress are afraid to be labeled “Tax and Spend” not just the Republicans. Gas prices are a form of tax everyone pays. Even those who do not drive cars or have a job (or an income) in the increase of the cost of everything transported.
