Which way of driving saves more gas?

5

Just wondering, would driving fast or driving slow save more gas? If you drive faster at a constant speed, you get to where your going faster..if you drive slow it takes longer but you wouldn’t be accelerating as much..I dont know, this is something I’ve been wondering for a long time.

Stay below 60 mph if you can. Don’t gun it when you accelerate. Cruise control does save gas. Constant speed at 60 is perfect. The faster you go, the more gas you expend. The higher the rpm’s, the more gas you use up.

Studies show that 65 mph is an optimum speed for the best gas efficiency.

Pushing a car would not only save gas but also it will give u lot’s of strength and patience plus it will be good for environment. It will also help u develop tolerance because of the stares of the people.
Joking.
Anywhere between 60km-80km saves lots of gas or 35m-50m

Neither save more as via distance/speed ratios you’d use the same amount. The best option is to accelerate at a slow and steady speed to reach your cruising speed. After doing so then you keep your foot in that position. When braking…just let off the gas first….let the car slow down by itself if there is enough room…do not RIDE the brake, but push it slowly to achieve stopping.

Also, when going for long distances….use your Cruise Control if you have this feature as it helps.

P.S. :Examine filters, fluids, and tire pressure regularly to improve gas mileage.

There’s no unit of time in the measure of miles per gallon fuel efficiency. The measure of miles driven per gallon of fuel is independant of how long you might be driving at one speed versus another.

In general, the slower you cruise the better mileage you’ll get even though it might take you a longer time driving to get somewhere at the slower speed.
