Which saves more gas – Driving a shorter distance or for a shoter length of time?
I’m trying to find out which will be better no gas. i.e. If I drive for a shorter time, 39 miles in 53 minutes or would it be better to drive 1 hour 3 minutes and 30 miles?
Is shorter distance better or less time?

It really depends on a lot of factors, including the type of engine you have, your driving habits, and so on. But in your example, since the time difference is only 10 minutes and the distance difference is 9 miles, unless your car is super inefficient in fuel, the 30 mile journey will most likely use less gas.
