Where is the Fuel Filter on a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins 5.9?
Wanting to save money and change my own fuel filter, but cant find it. its a 2004 dodge ram 4×4 auto with 5.9 cummins

Probably close to the engine somewhere, and you may also have a water separator that you might think about changing too.
on top of the engine on the left hand side there is a canister with a spin off top just spin the top off and the filter should be attached the the spin top replace filter and put top back on there should be a little lever on the side of it that you can flip up when you get it up turn the key on and bump the starter (DO NOT TRY TO START IT) just bump it and leave the key in the on position this will make your fuel pump turn on and as soon as fuel starts running out where the lever on the side is flip the lever off and then you should be good to start it. It’s on the left side of the engine block down low, (on the right side if you are looking at the engine with the hood up). It is a canister with a drain cock and a spin off top. Replace the filter at least once a year and twice is better.
