changing the spark plugs help if you haven’t done it in awhile. buying a turbo or supercharger…more cold air intake helps also. there are a lot of ways, autozone will be able to tell you many of them.
Get a routine tune-up. or just simply check the spark plugs. They may need to be replaced. Also underinflation in your tires can cause it too.
Oil Change and tune up… Fouled out plugs or wires will make efficiency in mileage go down.. pre-Maintenance or PM can cost less then repairs and should be done every 3000 miles for the oil change, and possilbe every 6 months for the tune up, depending on how much you drive per month.
change the oil. inflate the tires. change the fuel filter.change the pcv valve, change or clean your air filter. tear out useless stuff in your car. carbon fiber everything you can.
- Check you air pressure in your tires
- change your air filter
- fill up with premium gas and some fuel injector cleaner
- get a tune up
- Use the recommended oil in your vehicle
these are just some basics that will help;

That should help!
best way is a tune up, also, try to drive slower, do not accelarate abruptly
You didn’t specify what is your fuel type. Tyre inflation is important. Regular Service is important also. Also the type of driving is very important. Many stop and go driving reduces fuel consumption, and also please note that idling means 0mpg.
Roof racks also reduce fuel consumption.
Do all the tune-up to manufacturer’s specified settings. Make sure the wheel alignment is straight, reduce some weights out of your car, tires are not flat. Or try the water and fuel system kit to save gas.
Spark plug gap affects gas mile more drastically than anything else.
Tire inflation is also important. If you have switched gas stations and are now using a gas that contains ethanol, you will get lower mileage.
If you have added anything to your car like a luggage rack or bicycle rack, that can also reduce mileage.
Make sure you are accurately calculating your gas mileage also. The computers built into the cars are very inaccurate and affected by weather conditions.
