What is the most fuel efficient motorcycle as of 2011? Or where can i find the most fuel efficient motorcycles?

I am looking for a motorcycle that will save me a lot of money, or the most amount of money as compared to driving a car… and i don’t want a moped.
I don’t want a scooter either. I need something that is highway worthy.

save you alot of money in what way. what size bike are you looking for. there are some scooters that get almost 100 mpg. motorcycle company’s do not list the mileage of there bikes. all motorcycles no matter what size get better mileage then a car. smaller bikes get better mileage then larger bikes. if you have never ridden before then the best bike for you would be a 250cc to 500cc bike.

Well first of all, motorcycles aren’t nearly as fuel efficient as they might be, because they have a lot of wind resistance. The faster you go, the more fuel you’re ‘wasting’ just pushing air out of the way. A bike that gets 50 mpg at 40 will get 40 mpg at 60.

So if you really want fuel efficiency you want to go slow. Small bikes, like 100cc and under, get really good mileage, partly because they have tiny, weak engines, but also partly because they don’t go much faster than 35 mph. A moped, of course, will give you the best mileage because it hardly does 20.

If you don’t want a moped your best bet is probably a 50cc scooter (or 70 or 90 or 100. All about the same). Honda makes two models of 55cc scooters, the Metropolitan which looks like a classic Vespa, and the Ruckus which looks like a piece of farm equipment. Both have the same engine and drivetrain. Considering gas, maintenance, registration, etc. there’s probably nothing cheaper to operate, except maybe a moped.

smarty pants doesnt have a clue, any V twin bike will give you great mileage and H.D. gets 50 M.P.G. at highway speeds.

The bike that would probably get the best mileage while still being able to maintain highway speeds is the Ninja 250. It can barely reach highway speeds but it will still get there, and the 250cc engine absolutely sips gas. However, anything between 250-500cc can very reasonably get 65+mpg

if you live in the states cbr 250r is the most fuel efficient bike, but if you live outside of the states then its your pick between the ninja 250r, and the cbr 250r since the ninja is fuel injected outside of the u.s. but yeah the ninja 250r can go 60+ mpg and it can handle highway speeds (not barely, but can and will) and so can the cbr 250r (i’d say a bit more since its fuel injected)
