Keep your engine tuned. Tuning your engine according to your owner’s manual can increase gas mileage by an average of four percent.

Comments on what is the best way to save gas mileage?
a prius gets 60mpg might wanna think bout buying one
This is contrary to what everybody tells you: Put Premium gas in your car. Try it. It works best on the highway. It will easily return the 10-20 cents you pay which is a small percentage of the cost of gas.
ride a bike and you’ll have the best buns around! Seriously, maybe a moped or motorcycle
Get an economical car
Dont be a leadfoot
make sure your tire pressure is correct
Service your car to make sure it runs at top efficiency
Rideshare and make sure that your tires are properly inflated and car well maintained.
carpool or get another job closer to home
Get your tire pressure checked, change your oil filter when needed and your gas filter if needed. And when on the highway, turn your windows up (helps prevent drag)
Lets see Edgar:
a) Move
b) Car pool
c) Public transportation
d) another job
e) motorcycle
f) get rid of your SUV, buy economical car
Oh, contrary to girl36c_4u’s opinion, using premium gas when your car uses regular is a waste of $$$.
well, get a better car with gas mileadge. . . . . walk, or get a motorcycle, take the bus
walk.
What kind of car do you drive? If it’s something huge, trade the damn thing in already… you probably don’t need it.
Driving about 60 will save you considerably more gas than driving 70 or 80.
Keep your windows closed
Don’t use the AC
Avoid breaking as much as possible
Avoid Speeding
Avoid Traffic
Keep regular maintanance of your car – oil change, tire rotations, air filters, etc.
Keep your tire pressure at the recomended pressure
Take out excess weight that is not needed
If you have a truck put the tailgate down
Unfortunately, unless you change to a more fuel efficient car or motorcycle, there’s limited stuff you can do.
For example:
*Ensure your tires are properly inflated
*Change your oil regularly
*I like to get a fuel injection cleaning. Seems to run smoother.
*Change your spark plugs
*Maintain a clean air filter
Premium gas makes NO difference…Only thing u can do is get a smaller car/hybrid. Modifying your exaust to be less restrictive and getting an aftermarket air intake will slightly inprove your vehicals gas milage if u dont wanna buy a new vehical.
carpool is the answer to that one
