What is a safe and cheap way to store some extra gas (petrol) at home?

Prices of gas in my country are through the roof. I’d like to know if there’s a safe and inexpensive way to keep some gas stored so that I can save by buying gas less frequently.

get yourself a 55 gallon metal drum and fill it up. store it where it will stay cool but not in your basement.
