something turbo charged or filter charged if you do that it will only apply the amount of power needed only when you give it some gas.
If you are staying with a V8 then I would suggest the 318 CI. This has been an engine that Chrysler has built for years and should be strong enough for most general truck uses. If you are feeling really froggy then you might want to change out to a Diesel engine but honestly unless you are totally in love with the truck your best bet is to just trade yours in for a more fuel effecient model.
get rid of the dodge if you what a gas saver. the dodge v-8 wil never get good gas mileage. weather you have a 5.3 v-8, 4.7 v-8, or a 5.7 v-8 hemi, you will not get go gas mileage. if you want a better truck with power yet with good gas mileage, get a 1500 Chevrolet pickup. the silverado’s have a low fuel comsumption feature that allows to engine to run on 4 to 6 cylinders but when you mash the gas, the v-8 kicks in and 400 horses come alive.
