1980′s Honda CRX.
50mpg city, 65+ highway.
Try to find a hybrid that can beat it, for under $3000, lol.
A Dodge Ram Diesel. It does not use any gas, just diesel fuel.
But the old Hemi Ram will give you some serious power, who cares about gas!!!

Go to the website below and look under HYBRID.
Or look for autos getting over 30 miles per gallon.
Traditionally I have purchased Honda’s and done well with them. Reliable cars and good gas mileage. My current 2002 Civic LX gets between 32 to 38 mpg.
If I was buying a new car today, I would check out the Ford Focus, Honda Insight, and Toyota Prius. And instead of settling for a 5-15 minute “test drive” while a salesperson talks to me, I usually go rent one for a couple of days and go on a 500 mile trip. By doing this, I have avoided buying some autos that didn’t fit well with me.
