Lol i dont know what universe you’re on.
You can’t get a “cool”car.
that doens’t run on gas hunny.
Hydrogen generator. Split the water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen, run the oxygen down one side of a metal storage device(2 metal rods with opposite charges, one inlet and one outlet) and the hydrogen down the other. The 2 will try to reconnect with each other producing energy. When they meet at the opposite end, they will rejoin and produce water. Do this in a closed circuit and you can produce power with water. You will need a storage device such as dry cell batteries to harness the energy and an electric motor to power the vehicle.
Good Luck
There is no chemical energy to be had from water, it is a PRODUCT of combustion, therefore you cannot run a car on it. (unless it’s fusion-powered or something, and that does not exist at the moment.)
Hybrids don’t take any more energy to make the fuel than any other gasoline powered car, and they use less of it than most of them, particularly in city driving. They aren’t a stupid idea (particularly when you consider how reliable they’ve proven to be thus far).
Diesel is actually one of the most environmentally friendly options out there right now. With new clean-burning/urea-injecting diesels, particulate and sulfur pollution is becoming comparable to gasoline powered cars. They’re capable of burning a far wider variety of fuels, many from non-fossil sources (which means less net addition of CO2 to the atmosphere…not zero, but less), which will be more widely available in the future. AND they get better fuel economy than comparable gasoline models, even considering the extra energy density of diesel.
If you’re worried about energy used in manufacturing, buy a USED fuel-efficient car.
Cars with good fuel economy that I think are cool:
Toyota Yaris
Honda Fit
Mini Cooper
Scion xB (the old one)
Honda Civic hatches
1980s Toyota Corolla
Toyota Tercel
Toyota Paseo
Dodge Colt/Mitsubishi Mirage hatch
Honda Insight
VW Golf TDI
If you’re in Europe: Smart Roadster
VW Polo
If you’re in any country that can get them:
Honda Beat
Mazda AZ-1/Suzuki Cara
Daihatsu Mira Gino
Mazda Carol
Mitsubishi Toppo
Nissan Figaro
Nissan Pao
Nissan Be-1
Nissan March/Micra
Toyota Sera
If you’re going cool first and fuel economy second, here are sports cars with decent fuel economy (can do over 30 highway):
Lotus Elise
Toyota MR2/MRS
Mazda Miata
Chevrolet Corvette (it’s all in the transmission)
If you really want to be environmentally friendly, get a bicycle and cut down on your driving.
