What else can I do and buy to reduce gas consumption on my suv?
I drive a 2001 Dodge Durango v8 4.7 2wd. I feel like it consumes a lot of gas!! I have bought formulas for the gas tank and oil tank that seem to have very little affect. I put a K&N air filter that is supposed to help save gas a little but it seems like it does not. Maybe this suv normally consumes a lot of gas?

these are heavy vehicles, but do a tune up, new plugs and wires do amazing things for gas mileage. but also make sure the tires are inflated properly. other wise that’s it. you want better gas mileage sell the suv and buy a car.
SUV with V8s are notorious gas hogs. It’s a 2001, so I have to ask, did you change the plugs and wires? Have you changed the oil and filter? Do you drive slower with no jack rabbit starts and slowing down earlier so you don’t have to brake? Proper inflation pressure in the tires?
All these help with gas usage.
The cheapest thing you can do is change the way you drive. Accelerate slow and coast longer when approaching a stop. You have two bad combos for wanting to save gas first a V8 engine and second a suv.
an suv using gas???? no way!!!! u musta got a bad one. take it back they will give u a brand new one that gets 200 mpg. they hide them till u complain fcukface
The obvious and easy items-
tire inflation – put to maximum as listed on the sidewall
I do believe that one commonly overlooked item that affects fuel mileage is the PCV valve. I do recommend getting one from a dealer to replace the old one. It should be less then then bucks.
Cheaper items to do-
NGK Iridium spark plugs
Lifetime Spark Plug wires
Full synthetic fluids in the engine, transmission and rear end.
Get the tow in and alignment done.
Get a full CAI (cold air intake) kit
I hope this helps
good luck
