This question is targeted for teens, but anyone can answer. Our gas prices are about $3.45 for reg. gas and our family has found some ways to conserve gas. Such as purchasing some new things for the home to do so we don’t have to go out. What are some other ways that we can conserve gas? What have YOU/ your family done?

In my area, the gas is about $3 for regular. We haven’t really done much, except making sure that we take shorter routes, and don’t drive if we don’t need to.
Some more ideas are-
Take public transportation
Carpool to certain places
Always fill your gas tank all the way up
Purchase more fuel efficient cars
For presents (birthdays, holidays, etc.) ask for gas gift cards instead of ugly pot holders or something useless that you’ll never use! Haha :)
Hope I helped.

In Perth, Australia the average petrol price is AUD$1.45 per litre. Not sure how they work out the difference for each country but it is rather expensive here.

Changing your oil and filter every 3000 miles helps your gas performance. In my area (Va Beach) gas prices vary depending how close you are to the tourist area of the beach. I live about 15 miles from the oceanfront and the gas in my area is $2.10 a gallon. However at the beach yesterday it was $2.45 a gallon. Talk about a tourist trap!

In the city i live in in West Virginia it is $3.49 per gallon at the station we usually go to but it varies throughout the area. It hasn’t affected my family all that much really. Really the only thing that has changes is we dont drive the SUV as much as we used to. We usually take one of the other cars. We have been taking the mercedes alot more… nothing much haas changed though other than my grandpa fussing about the prices (:

Gas here is about 3.07 a gallon. Its has not affected my family that much financially because we all have fuel efficient vehicles. But me and my little brother ride the bus to school and if we need to get around we either carpool with a friend or walk. My parents ride to work together and my dad drops my mom off at the hospital and his office is 3 blocks away. So we have made some adjustments.

Gas where I live is about $3.05 or so a gallon. It really hasn’t affected anything.

Gas is $3.25 a gallon/regular here and hasn’t affected anything.
Gas for a car is less than a monthly house payment, electricity for A/C, food, a car payment, water for lawn irrigation, car maintenance, auto insurance, etc.
Gas would have to go up to $20 a gallon for anyone to seriously make changes in their lifestyle. At $400 a fill-up, motorcycles would suddenly become extremely popular.
Trying to “economize” an existing lifestyle doesn’t amount to much. Either you make some big changes (change from automobile to motorcycle, move from a big house to small apartment, etc.) or you don’t worry.
One car accident, one month of really hot or cold weather, one illness, etc. can wipe out any savings you achieve from economizing.

ours is about $3.35 for a galloon. we conserve gas by carpooling and only driving to important places.
