The best one I know is to combine your trips. Example…If you want to go to three stores this week, don’t go to one on Monday and another on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. Make a loop to all three in one trip.
When you’re actually driving, though…the most important thing is to be safe. Don’t think so much about fuel economy that you’re driving less safely.

Plan your trips, avoid idling for so many needless minutes, use car pooling, avoid jackrabbit style of driving, hard braking and putting the gas pedal on the floor. Maybe, if you arew ready to do this, you may drop your SUV or limos, or wagons, and get a Honda Jazz, a compact Hyundai, Kia, or Toyota. It will save you tons of money on initial outlay for a brand new/used unit, and the daily gas bill.
Even Gov. Arnold changed the engine of his SUV, to one that is environmetally friendly. He is not only saving gas. he is also trying to save the planet. Happy and safe driving.

the less you press the gas pedal the more you save. also, don’t think that the air conditioner robs gas mileage, it only uses a few more rpms to run. if youre on the highway, rolling down your windows as opposed to turning on the air is a bad idea, it actuallys takes more gas to cope with the wind resistance of your windows rolled down.

get large alloy wheels with a thin tyre. these will revolve on the edge of the wheel radius giving you more distance whereas normal tyres fold in and in effect the road is closer to the centre of the wheel making them shorter distance per rev.
lose the weight. yourself your metal if you can afford carbon fibre hull parts get them. Never put your foot to the floor in an effort to go faster it does nothing more than progressive accelerating does in terms of speed, it just burns more fuel as your car tries to do what it was going to do in the same amount of time!
change gears and try to make it to the highest gear on a motorway or any road that goes over 60mph and let the car run on it own idle rev maybe a little nudge with the accelerator now and again to make sure it dosent slow down. this makes the car move on its own inertia?!! and the heavy gear will just have to do minuim amount of work so the engine shouldn’t have too much to do!
if you have a diesel get a supercharger or pour whisky into the fuel (the whiskey might be more expensive tho?

don’t drive at high rpms and yes coast, if you see a red light let off the gas, you might even get there when it goes green again and not have to brake at all, don’t accl hard and use as little breaking as possible while still being safe of course

Ride your bike
Walk
Maintain tire pressure and get tuned up.
Get rid of stuff you don’t need (weight) from the car or trunk
remove spoilers, racks, anything that gets in the airflow.

- Tire pressure: very important.
- Drive the speed limit
- Avoid rapid starts
- Keep the car tuned up (routine oil changes)
Drive like there’s an egg between your foot and the accelerator!

drive slow.
