Don’t keep your foot on the gas, let up on the pedal when you are at a cruising point and on down hills, it brings gas mileage up for me by 9 miles a gallon. Good luck.
there is this method where you accelerate up to a top speed then turn the car off and let it decelerate, then start the car and do it again. I forget the exact name for it, but this is essentially what hybrids do. People really do this though. Hmmm… I think it is called Hypermiling. like Hyper Mile. Look it up.
Alternatively, make people build stuff closer to you, or move closer to stuff. I know the southeast can sometimes be kinda spread out…
First remove any unneeded things for your car. Junk, and things in the trunk. Fill up only half (Hey any bit helps).
When driving, ever so slowly accelerate. Try to coast down hills, avoid the brake as much as you can, because then you’ll have to accelerate again. So always be looking to possible lane changes if needed.
It’s somewhat dangerous, but you can also coast on the highway behind large trucks. They cut the wind in front of you, so your car doesn’t have to work as hard.
Try to do around 60 mph, but it’s mostly about the acceleration…nice and slow.
I drive a ’05 TL and I get 6l/100km or about 38 mpg.
