To Save Gasoline,is It Better To Open The Window While Drive Or Better Close Window And Use Air-condition ?
At slow speeds it is more efficient to leave the windows open, but at highway speeds the additional drag caused by open windows costs you more gas mileage than you’re saving. So if you’re going faster than about 35mph, close the windows and turn on the A/C.

save more gas with the window down
open a window air condition uses gas
I heard that if you are sitting in traffic, you should open a window to save gas. I also heard that if you are on the highway, an open window causes drag which decreases fuel efficiency. There is debate whether or not air conditioning uses gas or not. Some say it does, while others say it doesn’t. I just keep the windows closed and turn on the fan in order to save gas and improve my mileage.
Depends on the speed. You’ll have more air drag at higher speeds, so at interstate speeds it’s probably better to run the A/C. At lower speeds, it’s probably better to have the windows down.
Todays modern cars are so efficient that it doesn’t make any difference at all as far as gasoline is concerned.
That an old question…I have tried it both ways with no noticeable difference.. Avoid jack rabbit starts, drive near posted speed limits, proper vehicle maintenance will save more gas that driving with the window down….its hot out there use the ac…after all you paid for it..
open the window without the the air-condition
Air conditioners use gasoline, so open your window.
