To save gas, would you drive slower?
Most of the fuel used by a car is used to push the air out of the way. The faster a car goes, the more fuel it uses to go the same distance. It makes sense to slow down, but even with over $4.00 a gal gas, no one seems to be doing it.

Parking with the car on uses the same amount of gas as going 40 does.
It won’t make a difference.
I try my best to slow down a little bit but sometimes I can’t help speeding!
man its supply and demand right thats what they say…. well if you think about it the demand for fuel as a lot tyo do with us there is a war going on and guess where they get fuel same place we do thats where the demand is they use alomst the same amount as the whole country… their best mileage at best would be like 8 miles per gallon many use more…. i dont have a problem with them fighting but thats where i think the most of the problem is….. and your right we didnt slow down before when it was 55… and makes one think if they really wanted us too they wouldnt make cars that go over that or they wouldnt make cars that get less than 30 miles per gallon… the rich get richer
To save gas I would park my car and walk or car pool.
I actually COAST a lot more now. and if I see ahead that the light is read, I don’t press down on that pedal. and people behind me get pissed, but I’m not racing to a red light! that’s just stupid. and guess where this got me? In the last 3 weeks, I’ve put $25 bucks in my car! THAT’S IT!! and I don’t go anywhere unless I have to. I tell people that come into my store all the time (gas station employee here) that I can’t afford anything below half a tank. if it gets to half a tank, I am out of money and want to scream. because I honestly can’t afford to fill it up.
stupid gas. now if it wasn’t so hot I’d walk to work! but with 20 pounds of hair on my head, walking 2 miles to work sounds like NO FUN!
Slow down! Especially acceleration off the line is what hurts fuel mileage. My 10 year old car just got 30 mpg, eat that trucks!
I will travel at the speed limit like I always have. I just do not save enough gas driving at 55 to make the time lost worth it. As you say it’s the idiots in the pickups and suvs that still pass me doing 90.
