Vent

6

you know how they say if you use the a/c, you use more energy and gas? does the vent use any energy and gas? or would it just be better to cruise down the highway at 60 with the windows down instead of using the a/c or panel?
i’m driving a 2000 ford mustang w/ a v6 engine to college and i really want to save as much gas as i can. i’m trying to find a job in the town so i can move closer, but for now i have to drive. when i have nothing to do for the rest of the day, i have no problem setting the cruise at around 55-60 on the highway (i used to do it after track practice when i didnt have any homework or anything else to do, at the end of the day in high school). but sometimes it gets hot with the windows closed and the vent isnt always cool air. so sometimes i wanna drive with the windows down or the a/c……i just wanna know which is better?

Here is the fastest and most economical way to cool your car in the summer:
1) You get in the car and ride for a mile with the windows down. The car will still be hot, but much less now.
2) If the outside temperature is comfortable for you (say, 80F or less), vent new air in with your AC.
3) If the outside temperature is high (say, more than 80F), recirculate.
You should only use the vent if the outside temperature is more comfortable than the temperature inside the car.
