I don’t understand the design of high efficient fuel vehicles.
I think the concept is great (saving money on gas) but why do they (automakers) design them ugly? I mean, the whole futuristic look is totally a turn-off. It just looks cheap, ugly, and unrealistic to drive or even boast about. I know saving money on fuel is imperative to some but style is important, too.
Is this just the look towards the future or what? I know cars develop over time with shape, etc. but it seems a bit weird to me.
Don’t they realize their cars would sell more if it were styled in a better way?

No hybrids please and 4 cylinder models only.
I’m 6’5″ and in the market for a new vehicle. The only thing that matters to me is that it’s a 4 banger that gets great gas mileage in the 25-30+ mpg range and no less. I’ve test driven a lot of cars, but they just sit way too low to the ground for my liking.
I feel like I have to crawl down into them and I don’t like the way you have to literally reach for the wheel like it’s 4 feet in front of you. A lot of people have mentioned the Ford Escape, but a co-worker had a 2wd 4 banger model as a rental car once and the best she got out of the thing was 22-23 mpg.
I love Ford Rangers, but the last 4 cylinder model I had only got 22 mpg highway. I feel like I’m in a rut here. Am I just gonna have to realize that there just aren’t any comfortable non-hybrids for tall people that get 30+ mpg?

We build cars capable of going 120+mph. Most state speed limits are no higher then 65 mph. WHY? If this Government wants to reduce are dependency on foreign oil. Limit the speeds to 55 mph on all vehicles. It’s simple and inexpensive, it will save lives, reduce auto insurance, and improve the environment. When the autos are delivered to the dealer before he delivers them to the customer the service department will plug in a handheld computer to a tamper proof connector. The mechanic inputs a code and sets the speed to that states limit. I have driven vehicles 10 years ago that have this system installed on them. I am presently driving vehicles that have the same system.
People read the Question and please use your intelligence. Also please no teanie boppers need respond.. That means anyone under the age of 23. Let me add this comment .You need government intervention because the driving public is to stupid to conserve fuel. Second no engine will burn out at 55mph a six cylinder will have an RPM of 1800. Also no speed limit signs will have to be changed because the vehicles will not go faster then 55mph. To the wise guys that figure they can reprogram the system you wont be able to period. It will be tamper proof. That means if you even attempt to change it the car will not ever start.
