Since carbon fiber is a lot lighter, it wouldn’t add so much weight and it would also make the truck more aerodynamic I would assume. So would it in fact increase gas mileage?

My question is why do companies discontinue making products that people buy and there is a demand for? I understand if sales slipped and they discontinued for a few years, but the truck from what research I’ve done got about 45 MPG. Surely with advanced technology they could make one at least that fuel efficient if not more and I’m sure they would have people pounding at the door for it. Not only for saving $$$ at the pump but for environmental reasons.
