I was thinking about ways to lower my car’s fuel consumption and I came across these “performance chips” that would increase horse power AND lower fuel consumption. They only cost about 10-20 bucks. Do they really works or they are fake?

I know that one must maintain a safe distance b/w your car and the car in front. But while driving on the highway the other day, I wondered if it would help with the gas milage if I decrease the distance between my car and the car in front or if I drive behind a big truck. Would doing so help my car by reducing drag or would it not have much of an affect? What are your thoughts on this matter???

On Saturday, May 19th, stay home! Don’t drive your car. Go for walks, barbeque at home, have family time, or have quiet time. Read a book, soak in the tub, watch movies, or catch up on your TIVO. Pass the word around. If you must drive, limit it to necessity only, no extra trips to Walmart, and drive the speed limit to conserve gas. Everyone’s goal should be to save at least one gallon of gas.
Tell your friends, family, everyone, just stay home! Save gas, and save us all money. Just one day of conserving gas could have a great impact on our oil supply. How many people can you get to agree?!
This isn’t about boycotting gas, this is about CONSERVING it. If everyone joined in, gas would be saved, thereby reducing demand. Thereafter, the law of supply and demand would be affected.
I chose a weekend, because so many people work Monday-Friday. And I didn’t choose Sunday because of church.

Since people said that the blower fan spinning at the same speed all the time and relying on batt power whereas the compressor gulping on fuel to operate?Does setting the blower to the max is actually increase the opening of the air vent and not the fan speed?

According to what I have read (and now what I do)
1. Drive 60mph on interstate roads (unless an emergency).
2. Coast to red lights and keep out of gear when you can. (Tapping the brake pedal keeps brakes from getting hot and waring out faster.)
3. Turn off engine if it is going to be a long red light.
4. Don’t play ‘creepee mouse’. Keep your engine out of gear. as keeping in gear puts strain on it and uses more gas.
5. Don’t make a fast acceleration when light changes to green
as this uses more gas then a gradual acceleration.
(Creepee mouse is moving a little each time car in front of you moves a little while waiting at a stop light)
