How come some people drive regular VW Golf where they could purchase VW Golf TDI instead and save tons on gas?

I’m looking to purchase a gas saving scooter.?

but I want it to look cool nothing cheesy you know nice paint job must run great and look good my main concern is I need good GAS MILEAGE. PLEASE HELP NEED SOME ADVICE.ANYBODY OUT THERE WITH A GOOD SCOOTER THAT CAN RECOMMEND ME?????

What would be a better vehicle to purchase to save fuel, hybrid or diesel?

I drive about 50 miles to work each way, 5 days a week and the costs are KILLING me. Any suggestions?
