I’m both curious and keen to verify facts, however little-known, about the cheapest day to buy gas (or the best time to buy gas) for a proper price-to-performance balance on gas mileage. Looking for facts that are statistically true.

I heard that Congress wants to be able to collect even more money off of gas. People are doing what they are told and conserving resources. Now tax collection is lower. Congress wants to add $1.50 or so to the price since we were used to paying $3.50 anyhow, and at the same time be able to collect more tax money. Is this true? Does Obama support this idea?

1. How often do you use a vehicle?
2. What is your general reaction to gas price increases?
3. How has this affected your life directly, if at all?
4. Do you know about the middle-east uprisings of late?
5. How high have gas prices been raised for you? (Before/after)
6. What ways to do you use to conserve gas?
If anyone genuinely answers these questions, I’d be grateful.

I know it’s not a popular idea, But it has been proven that big vehicles DO get better fuel mileage going at least 5 miles slower than the speed limit and good fuel mileage vehicles do even better at lower speeds. And another plus would be in saving lives. I don’t mean 55, but something around 65 or maybe 60? What do you think? The Texas county that I live in has a 80 MPH speed limit.

I thought driving slower suppose to save gas. Yet I see people driving like gas is only $1.00 Speeding and racing each other, rabbit starts when the light changes to green, driving in and out of traffic like their on their way to a fire. Even the flow of traffic on the free way people are driving just has fast as ever.

Even if a city bus costs $100-$125k, the suburbs are the towns which need to add bus service. Most people who live and work already drive buses. But out in the suburbs you are stuck driving your car everywhere. Even to a grocery store, the way towns are built, there are few sidewalks in which to walk. If the U.S. wants to conserve fuel why aren’t they just doing simple things like adding the buses. (Yes i know buses add to the air pollution, but that’s a price many of us would give up in an effort to lower the price of gas. By doing this temporarily (until prices come down) the effect is no different than someone who blows a cigar puff into the clean air – it will dissipate and return to normal in short time. More buses, more public transportation NOW!! Maybe install some of those airport flat elevator walkways to zip people around too.

Why is it Americans continue to driver their gas guzzlers, their boats, and all the other luxuries they foolishly waste money on instead of tightening down like the rest of the world and try to conserve as many of our resources as possible?

Back when the price rocketed up in the 70′s the federal government lowered the highway speed to 55mph to save on gas. If the price of gas was to go down because of less demand goes down would you support the speed limit of 55 or 60 mph instead of 70 or 75?? Why or why not?? Ten points for best answer:)
