The gas cap on my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser states that I should only use premium fuel but in this time of rising gas prices, I wonder prefer to save the 20-30 cents per gallon and use the regular fuel. Will this cause any issues with performance, lesson the miles I get per gallon, or worsen the effect my emissions have on the environment? Answering that I should have bought a hybrid car doesn’t count!

I have a 1995 Honda Prelude Si and it says on the dash and on the fuel door to use premium unleaded only. But to save SOME money my parents told me that i could get by using mid-grade (89, not 93). Will this affect my engine or decrease horsepower?

Got a new Lexus RX350 and love it but trying to save on gas, I was wondering how truly crucial it is to use the premium gas recommended. Does it really damage the engine? Or does it just decrease the performance minimally and not worth the cost?

I am presently filling up my 2009 ford edge with silver premium fuel. Due to the rising cost of gasoline, am thinking of shifting to the regular gas saving about 20-25 cents per gallon. I misplaced my manual so I opted to ask here in Yahoo. Thanks!

I’m thinking of maybe selling my 335i after 5 years or so so should i use 87 octane fuel and if there are any problems then i just go use the warranty? I’ve heard that it is hard for the dealer to see that you’ve been using 87 octane fuel so the warranty won’t void. This would save some money.
I dont want to hear ” If you bought such a nice car then you shouldn’t be worrying about the price of premium fuel” !!!!
Is this a good idea?

Hi,
My car’s owner’s manual says that I have to put premium gasoline in my car.
I was wondering would it make a difference if I put regular gas and add octane booster?
I know it sounds stupid but I can save about $4 a fill up that way.
Actually octane booster is $1 not $10

The dealership also told me that I needed to use the 91 octane. It’s new car, so I don’t want to destroy it, but come on! Doesn’t the whole fuel grade thing sort of seem like a big lie to you?
I’d like some opinions on this from car experts. If it’s possible to use regular I would like to, because I’d save so much money!
PS the car is 2007 mini cooper
