I am just wondering if their is any tweaks i can specifically make for that model of the grand prix. I get about 16 to the mile at best in town and i am by no mean a lead foot. I was thinking of replacing the air filters, but is their anything else i could to to the stock engine that would make it run more smoothly and save me money at the pump? Thanks!

I recently bought a 2008 pontiac G6 GT after my 99 grand am got a hole in the head gasket, on top of that i suspect there is a sizeable chance there is a crack in the engine head, rather then risk repairing the head gasket and the intake manifold ive decided to junk it considering the chance of a cracked head.. a junk yard would give me $100 for it but id rather strip it down myself and sell the parts off of it.. however i found someone interested in buying the vehicle and using it for spare parts, which would save me the time and work of stripping the car down myself even tho i wont make as much off of it but whatever..

Here are the details: the car has 168,000 miles on it, id rate the body a 2 out of 5, it has rust beneath the drivers side door and underneath the gas cap, probably caused from dripping gasoline from the previous owners.. outside of those spots the body still can be scrapped, the rotors have barely 10,000 miles on them, the alternator was replaced at 128,000 miles, new coil springs.. so i do have usable parts on it that are relitavely new.. i could sell all 4 rims for $25 a piece as they are all in good shape… so considering the informations what would be a fair price to sell the car for?

Can I afford this car?
I’ve never bought my own car before.
I’ve always been spoiled with new ones.
I make 28k-34k a year (sometimes I work 2 days out of the week sometimes 4 days). I make $20/hr salary 12 hour shifts. No bills. I don’t even pay for gasoline or food. (Yes spoiled I know.) I have $1000 saved up for the car and another $1000 just in savings. (Started working 2 months ago and been spending ever since lol). I have a 2004 grand prix gt2 I want to trade in. I don’t think im upside down. My parents normally pay more than they need to. Can I afford a $34,000 G8 GT ? And how much would insurance go up on a 21 year old driver with a history of speeding (most tickets removed via defensive driving). Any serious answer would be of great help! I don’t want to ask my dad to finance me if it’s a stupid idea. Thanks for reading !
First of all.. I have had two 30,000+ cars. So its not out of the ordinary. My car now is 20,000. 04 Grand Prix GT2. Its a nice looking car. As for moving out of my house. I have lived in serveral places over the past 3 years. No place is better than our big brick home. I have my own everything seperate from my parents. My own bathroom, fridge, room etc etc. Why live in a crappy apartment when work is only a minute drive.. Oh and a REAL job ? What exactly is a real job to you lol? Im a polysomnography technologist. Next month I’ll be registered and making 30/hr at age 21 I don’t think thats not a “real job”. Its not a real good paying job buts its not the worst. My older brother makes 1/3 of what I make now. I appreciate your answers but don’t understand the critizism. So would 1,600 (the lowest I make a month) cover the payment and diffrence in insurance (I dont pay ANYTHING I would only pay the car note and diffrence in car insurance (so if it goes up 200 ill pay 200 plus car note)

new fuel injectors are pretty expensive, im trying to save a bit of $$ but without any damage being done, the bonneville has a series 2 engine and the park ave has a series 1 supercharged.

This car was designed to run on gasoline, but a friend of mine told me that I can buy a new engine that runs on diesel. For me, this is more about going green than saving money. The car originally was designed to run on gasoline, but I have no problem with replacing part or all of the engine. The old engine blew a head gasket. Has anybody out there attempted this before?

Besides the obvious ones of course. I even looked at the tornado fuel saver and the cyclone, but I’ve heard that they are worthless. Any tips will be appreciated :)
