A lighter car would have better gas mileage. Filling tanks only half way would decrease a demand for oil being processed into fuel (maybe?) and cars would become a little more economic. Does anyone think that would help at all?

Qantas A380 with Rolls Royce engine suffers engine blow up & many system losses. Luck played a large part in saving this flight from disaster.
Not a 3rd world airline
This is 2010
Extra pilots on board play significant role.
Fuel leaks, flaps not fully operational, close to runway overrun, hot brakes.
Delayed disembarkation due to stair van delay.
Engine can not be turned off.
Rolls may be sued by Qantas.

im having a hard time finding details on the net because of advertisements that explain nothing im pretty sure synthetic oil still requires certain bi products of crude oil. i am asking this because even if we develope electric or hydrogen vehicles and mass produce them and build an infrostructure before oil prices are so high that the expence to take on such a task would make bill gates broke in a day. even if we did all that what alternatives for wheels and engines would we have worthy of moving faster the 10km an hour without burning or brakeing and train tracks is a rediculous idea might as well build rivers to boat around in. i mean even if we escape gasoline prices and dig geothermal holes super deep to produce geohydro electricity to power cars batteries but still require oil and wheels from crude eventually when a metal refillable cannister of oil costs $200 and to recharge ur battery costs five your still paying the same price to get around as we do now. the worst part is from what i can see its only going to get harder is there any brilliant person out there who sees anything different? i mean is star trek driving us to a toil of madness or is science going to save us?

that was put on bythe government for saving fuel/mileage by reducing the use of fuel? Someone told me a story about a man who bought a new car ata dealership(which contained this part)and took a trip to another state and when he returned he still had nearly a full tank of fuel.What part were they using to make this happen?

and all I can afford–purchased at a car auction by my brother. I live below poverty line, barely surviving, disabled, not on bus line and need a car, but it is so expensive.
If I have a bunch of stuff in car and trunk does that hurt gas mileage?

I have a 96 Saturn SL-2. I took it to a mechaninc. He said the rings are shot on one of the cylinders and there is no compression. I have noticed my fuel cunsumption has gone up since I started having this problem. Is there anyways I can remove a fuel injector for that cylinder to keep the engine from dumping/wasting gas into a bas cylinder? I am looking for a temp fix to keep the car going to get back and forth to work. I am saving for a new vehicle and don’t want to spend 900 dollars to get it fixed. It is more money than the vehicle is worth.
