Manual

I have a 2004 Honda Accord, that is manual transmission. It runs fine when the engine is on, but when I turn off the engine to conserve gas, and sit and listen to the radio during lunch, about 10 maybe 15 minutes later, everything goes dead and I need a jump. Is that the battery or the alternator?

I drive a manual Nissan Xterra 04′ and I was wondering if there are any procedures to save gas. Coasting in Neutral, depressing the clutch at a stoplight, things like that.

Thanks!

hi there, im driving manual car. Need to know if this works:
1) a friend of mine told me if putting Free-gear while going downhill will save fuel.
2) constanly change to free gear whenever we have chance to do so even in flat road.
3) will constanly changing to free-gear in various speed will effect the car in long term?
thanks. let share this together.

I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra and a 2006 Nissan Altima. Both have 5 speed manual transmissions. Given fuel prices, I’ve been looking at some of the hypermiling techniques and noticed some warnings that have me wondering if it is harmful to the vehicle. I’m also curious if my vehicles will benefit from the basic pulse & glide technique (just going to neutral, not turning the engine off/on).
My route to/from work is mostly rural over hilly terrain. I do have several stops (signs/lights) but they are spread enough an predictable enough.
Would employing a pulse & glide technique of shifting to neutral harm the car? Does it provide any benefit or do my vehicles already have features that enable fuel savings that make going to neutral pointless?
Thanks

i have a 2000 kia sephia and i was wondering if pulse and gliding with the engine off WHILE the car is in gear will hurt my tranny. I ve done it a few times but it thought that maybe i d mess it up eventually(the transmission)
Also the funny thing about it is when i restart the engine its not like it has to engage the starter i just turn the key and hit the accelerator then runs like its always been on!
thanks!

Gas is far too pricey, especially on military pay. So, I’ve done research on how to save gas while driving, but are there any tips exclusively for a manual transmission?
