Flooring the pedal will use up a lot of gas, but idling also uses up gas. Which is the better option?

I have a 1996 toyota camry that i bought 2 months ago. (2.2L engine.)
I had a check engine light come on recently. I took it to Aamco and they ran a diagnostic test for free. They said “it was misfiring in 6 areas and it needs a major tune up.” I decided to do it myself and save $$$. I did a good job. I replaced spark plugs, wires, PCV valve, air filter, distributor cab and rotor. I did each spark plug(gapped) and wire one at a time. After job was completed. Check engine light still on. Then changed air filter and PCV valve. Nothing. Then I change distributor cap and rotor. Bingo! The check engine light went off! My car ran great for two weeks. Then today i was driving and the “check engine light” comes back on! I smell strong odor of fumes from exhaust pipe. Maybe needs fuel injectors cleaned professionally? I think thats a waste of money. Could it be oxygen sensors? Mass Air flow meter? Fuel filter? Gas cap. I’m tired of wasting my money. I need help please.

I heard from someone that keeping the car in neutral while waiting at a stop light saves gas. (if it does work, would it be beneficial to put the fot on the brakes) Is this true? I have a 02 accord V6.

What amount of fuel would be saved if light trucks, including SUV’s, had to meet the same CAFÉ standards as other cars?

I would connect it in a way that whenever the brake pedal is pressed 2 injectors (one on each bank) would be disconnected. And when pedal is released it would be normal. Will pcm increase injector pulse width to compensate or what you people think?

I have been using this light bulb for a while without any problem. All of a sudden the bulb made this hissing sound and lots of white smoke was released into the air. It had some chemical smell to it too. I unplugged the lamp and put it outside. I opened all the windows and had a fan pushing air out of the room.
How dangerous are these light bulbs if the mercury gas escapes from them? Is there enough gas in one light bulb to be dangerous? Should I worry about my other energy saving light bulbs? What makes the bulb break up like that? I had my toddler in my bed when this happened. Should I be worried about her breathing this stuff? We got out of the room within seconds, but we still breathed some of it.
Sorry for the multitude of questions: I’m worried.
Thanks to anyone who answers.
P.S. There was nothing other than the lamp shade around the bulb or on the lamp.

I own a 1994 Dodge Shadow ES (executive sedan) Automatic 2.2L 4 cylinder economy car. I use hypermiling to boost my Miles Per Gallon. One hypermiling technique is to shift your car into park or neutral when idling for more then 30seconds at a stop light. I have been trying this while placing my shadow in PARK. This has shown a considerable increase. Should I instead place it in NEUTRAL rather then PARK? NEUTRAL is just above DRIVE on the shifter and so it would be easy to change from NEUTRAL to PARK when the light turns green. When I placing it in park at a stop light there is a 5-10 second lag in the time it takes me to shift it to drive from the park position, so the cars behind me will have to wait to resume acceleration once the light turns green. Would placing it in NEUTRAL lead to better MPG then if I used PARK?
