We’ve all heard of E85, 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Some states currently run E10, most recently California. Minnesota passed an E20 mandate but has yet to get the ok from the EPA. I’ve heard a person gets the best mileage with E30. If so, why not mandate E30 eventually? If I were to pump 20 total gallons into my fuel tank, 13 gal. gasoline & 7 gal. E85 to make E30, adjusting the equation in states currently blending ethanol, how would that effect my vehicle mileage, engine mechanics, and performance? Is the EPA testing for E20 and E30?

Hi,
My car’s owner’s manual says that I have to put premium gasoline in my car.
I was wondering would it make a difference if I put regular gas and add octane booster?
I know it sounds stupid but I can save about $4 a fill up that way.
Actually octane booster is $1 not $10

chevy volt electric car can use gasoline not to directly power the car but to produce generate electricity for the car like a power plant
takes 10 hours to charge or 4 with special charge system
takes 9scnds at full speed to go 0-60
and goes about 40 miles on single charge but keep in mind that “power plant” feature
and yup that’s about it (not to mention it saves the environment) but besides that tell me how it compares to your gasoline car and tell me if its worth the trade

I heard of ways of saving money even while gas prices are through the roof. I’m looking for ideas of how you save(i.e. habits that you may have) to be more fuel efficient. I’m well aware things like supermarkets that offer price discounts. I’m looking for answers that are not obvious like “drive less”.

I’m trying to prove my case that idling in the car pool line is BAD NEWS. I’ve found a lot of data supporting that every gallon of fuel that is burned produces about 20 pounds of CO2, and even some that says we use about You use about 0.026 gallons of gasoline for every 10 minutes of idiling, but no data that suggests how much gas is burned when the A/C is on – which is our problem here in Texas. Please help save our planet and our little children’s lungs and help me answer this question!
