Looking for people who bought or got a scooter to help save gas to get around? I have a Yamaha Towny 1982 50cc motor automatic, top speed 50kms ( 35mph).. Fun to drive But not for long rides, but it is cheap. I boght it from a friend $100 Cdn. excellent shape.. What does anyone else have?

I heard that using gas for heating and cooking saved electricity. When I got my bill, I was stunned. It was twice as high as it ever was! Why?

When my reality is that electricity costs more that gas. I have read three articles this month that state that the average cost of electricity is ten cents per KW. But my SCEdison average cost is over 25c and my tier 5 (or marginal) cost appears to well over 40c and maybe 50c with taxes and users fees. And there is no discount for “off peak” to use electricity at night. This seems to equal gas at four to five dollars per gallon?

if we need to conserve electricity, then why are we transfering the problem?
gas powered cars cause pollution and use up oil. electric cars use up a lot of electricity.
we do not have all that electricity and oil. so wtf?

They were clean, quiet and didn’t pollute. They could be used for emergencies such as Katrina. I know there is a few but people could do so much more. Is it the government? The petrol companies? The car makers? Even if there is a cost to produce electricity, who’s watching out for the future and making the opportunities for us to have a choice to not pollute, save fuel, etc.
