when driving down hill, some times there is enough slope to give you the speed u need without a need to use the acclerator.
So my point is, during downhill, do i Save fuel if i hold the clutch and drive or is it good if i just leave the clutch and glide without pressing the accelerator too. (the engine is running its not off).
brainy people answer.lol
thanks

1) do you save gas if you shift to neutral and just let gravity do the work? (in a manual car or an automatic)
2) do you have less control of the car when in neutral?
3) is it bad for an Automatic car if you keep shifting from D to N?
Why is it against the law to put it in neutral? don’t the brakes work just as well as normal? wouldn’t it be worse to be accelerating downhill?

For example, when you are going downhill, you put your car in neutral so you won’t have to press the throttle, do you actually save fuel or it doesn’t make any difference at all?
