what I mean is I figured I would put about 13k less miles on my car per year which is what I do now and you save on gas but then you do have to pay for your bus fare and subway.

I had a mechanic look at my car after it died on me on the freeway. He brought a camera to look inside. He said it depends on the parts for my Ford Focus 2002. I know I can save money if I go to the junk yard and get the stuff myself from another car. How much would you charge?

I am curious to know whether you use more gas by running your auto A/C at level 4, instead of level 1 for instance. Meaning, it pushes out more air, but does it use more gas to do so? If so, it is a lot more?
Don’t know much about cars, but I do know that any way to save gas these days is always important to me!

I am asking this because my boyfriend is so anal about saving gas that he will actually turn off the car at lights or in the drive thru of a fast food restaraunt, restarting moving up in line, and shutting down his car.. is he saving or spending more gas?

I found a van, it’s been gutted on the inside save for seats, for $500, just needs fuel injector and alternator, it does run but rough. Is this a bad idea…I could put in another $1K or so. I want to make it into my own custom van on the inside. Thanks
It’s a full size van, E-150 thank-you

Corn provides nice environmental benefits but only provides a portion of the efficiency for our cars meaning the costs is still higher than traditional gasoline. and it seems ethanol is the main alternative that is getting funded. So are you willing to compromise gas mileage in lieu of saving our environment?
Instead of $2.80 per gallon and 23 mpg you may only get 16 mpg at $3.20 per gallon so you have to purchase more gas to go the same distance….but you’ll feel better for not having added to the global warming. Don’t you feel better?
(The added cost is why we have ethanol added to our gasoline instead of a multitude of pure ethanol stations. In times of gasoline crisis, the government has added ethanol to stretch our reserves.)

I pulled up at the bank today and the vehicle actually turned off his vehicle while completing his transaction. I figured I was sitting there for about 5 minutes from start to finish. Should I turn off my engine to conserve gas or does shutting down the engine and then restarting use more gas then I would conserve?
