We all whine about petrol prices; this little car would serve many journeys although plainly not all. The Citroen 2CV and the Smart both have tiny engines and they sold well here. Are British drivers open minded enough to buy one? For starters, look what you save on price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and about how many miles per gallon does it get highway? It’s got new tires, an oil change, new radiator fluid and transmission fluid, and new spark plugs. I need to know about how much money i should save up for gas to drive from Las vegas To Wisconsin.

Drivers, with Idel Aire out there, do you think also that if all trucks used it, that fuel cost “should” come down. I mean on average, take 100,000 trucks on the road, off for a avg of 8hrs a day 5 days a week, at 1.5 gal per hr idel time. that save’s 750,000 gals of fuel per week or 39 million gals a year. Lets do this and MAKE the prices, due to less demand, come down….

The gas increase hasn’t affected me until yesterday. My hubby always makes sure my car is filled up. So there I am for the first time in forever getting gas for myself, when the dial says $50.00! and it still didn’t fill my tank up all the way! WTH! I have a small Sebring! To conserve gas, I have been putting the top down every where I go, so ofcourse my hair suffers, but I am considering buying a moped!
I hate when my bubble is burst and I am faced with harsh realitites such as these.
So, are you feeling the crunch from the gas prices yet?
the aerodynamics of the car, and with the top down I am not using the airconditioner, thats how it is saving gas.

Ok, so the price of gas isn’t going down anytime soon. And yes, we can all throw a snarky fit and send emails choosing a day to NOT purchase gas because, “That’ll show ‘em.” Been there, done that … doesn’t work.
So I’m trying alternate means of saving money, by signing up for grocery coupon sites and also signing up to different restaurants’ websites as they often send out coupons. I’ve also started shopping the Sunday circulars for best prices (even for things like toothpaste) and shopping at discounted stores (Marc’s and Aldi are two locally).
I’ve also got a few gas stations’ phone numbers in my cell and call them to compare prices before filling up.
What are some things you’re doing to save money other places, so you can spend a fortune at the gas pump?
** EDIT ** Another thing I do to save on miles driven is use my GPS to get from point A to B, even if I know where I’m going. I have it set to “fastest by car.” I don’t keep it on for turn by turn directions, but skim through them, and take that route! =)

have you guys ever heard of a product that saves u on gas. well i know of a product called ethos and save me a 7-19% in gas it cost $30 dollars for 16oz and last u for 160gal.not only saves u on gas put cleans out the engine . lowers friction and also u can put it in diessel, bio-diessel, an motor oil.

If we do as he said he wants, and we know that congress is in lock step with him on this if we just give up in Iraq, bring home our troops, then when they hit NY, or LA, we can just fight them there, and save all that fuel that it takes to fight them in their homeland, is that the plan? Is that what he has in mind?

The premium you pay for a car that runs on E85 is more than you will save in fuel costs for the life of the car. It is cheaper just to run gas. (comparing for example Civic gas vs. hybrid at current fuel prices). I guess you have to decide how much the environmental trade-off is worth to you. Any thoughts?
Do fed tax breaks or employer incentives change that?

I’ve heard that to save fuel, airplanes now taxi down for take-off on one engine. Also airlines have instituted procedures to reduce weight and drag. However, I don’t know if and what they have done to minimize idling time while waiting for take-off. I was in La Guardia (NY) one summer aboard a jet, one of over fifteen other aircraft lined up waiting to take-off. It took over thirty minutes before we had our turn. Obviously, all these jets were just slurping up fuel. I understand that this only involved major airports. What are the airlines doing to minimize taxi time?
