I know that one must maintain a safe distance b/w your car and the car in front. But while driving on the highway the other day, I wondered if it would help with the gas milage if I decrease the distance between my car and the car in front or if I drive behind a big truck. Would doing so help my car by reducing drag or would it not have much of an affect? What are your thoughts on this matter???

If you were to use the automatic shiftable option in a car, how much fuel are you saving compared to if you had it off. And when is the best time to shift to save the most gas? And the last question may seem dumb; but, if I ever wanted to find the top speed of a car (after removing the top speed limiter) should I shift right before the redline after every shift?

Here is my idea…
What if the roofs of our cars had solar panels that generated electricity during the day, and then by night or when it’s too dark to effeciently use the solar power, the car automatically switched to gas power?
We’re spending so much money on these unsuccessful attempts to create a different kind of gas, but why don’t we focus on other ways to conserve energy that we know works?
This idea wouldn’t eliminate the use of gas entirely but it would certianly lower the demand by a large percentage! Which in turn would lower the gas prices! Why hasn’t anyone else thought of this yet? Or if they have, will you please tell me where I can find more information about it?

It’s true biodiesel may not be a solution, but it’s a step in the right direction. Biodiesel pollutes less, can be made from used cooking oil, and diesel cars need little to no conversion to run on biodiesel. Hybrids are a better alternative, but they are very expensive, biodiesel is a cheaper solution. Look below for more info.
