I drive a gas pig – So I drive to work, and I drive home and that’s IT. I walk everywhere at lunchtime. I estimate I save 40 miles alone at lunchtime. Unfortunately, I work about 7 miles from home and I have to wear “dress business attire” so the bicycle thing would not work, nor could I walk.
What is everyone else doing?

gas prices are rising.. i think motorsports should be stopped to lessen the demand on fuel..

someday the price per barrel of oil could reach $1,000 if we do nothing..
if motorsports stopped we could have saved millions of gallons each year..

we are the fault why gas prices are rising. i think its time to save fuel..

Ok hear me out: gas is costing my mother in law $75 a tank for her mini van. She said when she first got it a few months ago it was costing her $60 to fill. She says it’s unaffordable now. She is going to finance a Toyota Prius. The monthly payments will be at least $350 a month (probably a lot more, she has awful credit w/ reposession). That brings her montly car costs up to $350 plus the cost of gasoline. So it would be over $600 a month for her to drive, versus the $300 plus a month in gas. I read you’d have to own your car for atleast three years in order to break even on the money you save on gas & the monthly payments on the new car. She has yet to keep a car more than a few months due to accidents and repos! So why buy a new car when you can’t afford it?

Back in the 1970s the state of california enforced a 55mph law on most of it’s freeways to help conserve gasoline. The California highway system was originally designed to allow motorists to travel at speeds of up to 85 miles per hour. But at that time, 85 mph was way too fast, and wasted too much gas. In the 1990s California raised the speed limit to 65 miles per hour because the price of gas was really cheap. Now that we are going through another gasoline crisis, do you think that the state of california is going to bring back the old 55mph speed limit law on most of it’s highways?

with gas being so high in America, why don’t do what they did in the 70′s. lower the speed zone? I thought that was a great idea because it saved alot of lives as well as saved gasoline. those were the good old days when you could fill up and joy ride all day and it wouldn’t hurt your wallet. now i spend 55 to 60 bucks to fill up and . and its frustrating.
