Say a 300 mile trip. You will of course be more awake if you were driving and lets admit it, it gets kinda boring to use cruise control. So how much difference could cruise actually make in gas consumption. Thanks for the help.

There’s a certain formula I’ve learned back in high school that I can’t seem to remember.
It went something like this..
John needs to buy gas. If gas is priced at $4.13 per gallon and Johns car holds up to 14 gallons. How much gallons does he need to pump to get the most bang for his buck.
I’ve asked a similar question in the mathematics category but haven’t gotten a concrete answer that I’m looking for. I’m pretty sure someone out there remembers this type of equation. Thanks guys
You’re absolutely correct. I remember what it was now what I was looking for. It was the MPD. Thanks guys
It was the calculation of how much it costs per mile depending on the current gas price. There was no saving whatsoever, my apologies.

can cutting auto sports save a considerable amount of fuel? I mean look at how much fuel is being used in auto sports every year. do you think that cutting the sport will save us some fuel? For example, if there were 2 nascar series instead of 4 (camping world inclu.) its not that i am picking on nascar but its because thats the main auto sport i follow up. It doesn’t really have to be nascar but in every country there is some kind of auto sport be it formula 1,2 or3, drag racing, circuit racing, boat racing or any kind of racing. I mean every country has its local racing and if they cut these will it save fuel? I AM ASKING DONT GET ANGRY WITH ME.

I’ve always wondered this when I’m stuck in traffic. If I anticipate sitting there for two more minutes (or how ever many minutes), do I save more gas by shutting off the car and restarting it when it’s time to move, or just keeping the car idle?
