Are those STP fuel additives that claim to save you gas any good? I use to use them all the time but I heard they make your car stall when you’re driving slow like into or out of a parking spot? But with gas prices going up,should i start using those STP products again?

Most of them claim that they will save fuel, lower exhaust emmissions, clean engine and increase performance. But are they really good? If thery are so good why big oil companies do not put them in the fuels they sell to public?

Don’t let anyone talk you into buying “fuel-saving additives”. Brand-name gasoline already has additives in the mix, so you don’t need to add anything else. You also run the risk of your engine running too “rich” which can damage your fuel injectors or carburetor. The best way to save fuel is to adjust your driving habits–not stopping or starting suddenly and watching traffic patterns so you don’t have to accelerate or decelerate too quickly.
