I have a 2010 Ford F-150 4×4 supercrew with a 4.6 V8 engine in it. I was just wondering if it is really worth spending the money to put a fuel economy chip in it, and if so what is the best chip to get?

I was just scammed with “Ethos FR”, which I learned after the fact that it’s Vegetable Oil (Canola Oil), mixed with a few cutting agents. My net savings were actually a loss with the cost of the product mixed in. I run a fleet of trucks and I NEED something that works!

How much will gas have to cost before it truly effects your day to day tasks? What are you doing now to conserve? Have you picked a “cut off point” (a point where you would stop driving and use alternate methods of transportation)?

my sister always puts the ac off when she stops for a little bit at a traffic light or anywhere. i told her its not good for the compressor as its constantly coming on and off. just looking for some verification. she claims it saves gas and also ligthens alot of load on the engine. but its a brand new car, so i dont know. thanks.

I’ve heard this, but on the other hand that means you have to be driving for a longer time to go the same distance. Does what you save make much of a difference?

I’ve been told many times to roll down the window instead of turning on the AC to save gas, but does turning it on while driving actually use it up? If so, how and why? It seems a bit strange to me to use gasoline to cool down the inside of the car.

It seems like my gas actually depletes even faster using cruise control…not sure if it’s a myth or not. But it makes sense in that you’re traveling w/ a consistent speed and the engine in general is not fluctuating as much.
