Saving Fuel Whilst Driving?
To save fuel i was told if you see the traffic slowing ahead or your approaching a red traffic light you should release your foot off the gas pedal and let the car continue to a stop.
Do you save as much fuel or more if you put your manual car into neutral and let the car continue to a stop, so your car is just rolling onwards without no engine power or any gears initiated?

Leave it in gear to save fuel.
In Neutral your engine is still powered by the small amount of fuel used to idle, in gear, the gears/inertia/etc are powering the engine. As long as it’s in gear and above idle speed (900rpm or wherever for your car) you will use ZERO fuel with your foot off the pedal, can’t use less than zero fuel.
Also, coasting in Neutral is actually illegal in many areas as you have less control over what’s going on with the car.
