Question related to car aerodynamics. Save gas milege using pop top or the slide moon roof that opens.?
I have a 2001 Honda Accord with pop top, power windows and slide open “moon” roof. Aerodynamically, is there more drag on the car if I open these windows? I sometimes also turn off the a/c to save on gasoline consumption. Which is better, using the pop top or the slide open roof.

It all really depends on how your pop top, pops up! If it pops up where the air will enter from the rear of the pop top, then you should be fairly fine.
If air enter from the front of the pop top, you could get quite a bit of drag from this set-up. As far as sliding moon roofs go, if you only slide it open about a 1/4 of an inch. you should be fine. If you turn your air conditioner to it’s lowest setting and keep your windows any windows about a 1/4″ rolled down. This should keep you plenty cool. without putting any un-neccessary drag on your car.
