Question about saving gas using…?
Nitrogen? Yea I heard a rumor that if you put nitrogen in your tires that it will help the life and save on gas. Now I have not tried this, but am curious to find out. So my question is does anyone know if this is true and are there any bad effects that can happen from using nitrogen in your tires?

wel the way it saves is most people are too lazy to add air in their tires or check them once a month and nitrogen does not leak out as bad as air does so that save you gas when tire are full of air and the tires last longer by not running them low.. any thing bad happen using it no is it worth the money it is if your not into keeping a check on your tire presure.. you could buy a air conpressor and a guage for the same price
Not really. Nitrogen is not as tempermental as oxygen is so your tire pressures will not be aserratic, but it really won’t do anything on gas mileage. as you travel down the road at higher speeds, your tire pressures will go up from the added heat and friction. Nitrogen will do the same thing, but not nearly as much. Nitrogen in the tires is used amongst all professional race teams, but again that is because it is more predictable than oxygen. As far as street use goes, it won’t hurt you, but it won’t really help either. The effects would be minimal at best
Yes! We install Nitrogen in most new tire installations!
Nitrogen molecules are larger than compressed air molecules, therefore, Nitrogen doesn’t ‘bleed’ out of a tire like compressed air. That’s why Nitrogen can advertise fuel savings. If you run your tire’s at the recommended pressures all the time, then Nitrogen will save you very little. HOWEVER, if you are like most people (myself included) that don’t check their tire’s pressure on a weekly basis, Nitrogen IS a good choice for you.
Here is something else you should know:
Nitrogen will not harm your tires in any way.
Nitrogen’s larger molecular structure helps slow down air ‘bleed out’ that occurs with tires on aluminum rims.
Nitrogen filled tires have shown to run cooler than their air filled counterparts, therefore increasing tire life. (Based on continuous proper inflation)
AND
In an emergency, you can fill a flat/or leaking tire with compressed air until you get to a shop for a tire repair.
With all these benefits, I strongly recommend Nitrogen filled tires. I’ve got them on my car, and some trucking companies have been using this practice on their 18 wheelers for years!
Yes it can save gas, but not a lot. You will barely notice. And since air is already 78% nitrogen, it will not hurt your tires.
Nitrogen is used in most aircraft tires because it does not go up or down in air pressure caused by temperature and keeping your tires at the correct air pressure will help with millage i would have to say yes.
