Question about driving with an empty tank of gas?
If you’re running really low on gas, and i’m talking about very very close to Empty, should you put your car in park at red lights to save whatever gas is left? OR, do you just push the breaks like you normally would?

Don’t put it in park…
Put in in neutral.
i pick choice C, you go to a gas station
makes no difference your engine is still running on idle. the only way to make a difference is to turn your engine off at stops but that might actually take up more gas to get your flywheel going
you should park your car at a gas station and fill up the tank einstein.
Drive normally, accelerate slowly. If ya run it low enough times you will be the proud owner of a new fuel pump.
)
it idles at the same speed no matter what(if its an automatic) so it shouldnt matter. be careful running it low like the because it sucks all the dirt up in the tank and clogs the filter and could leave you sitting if it clogs bad.
The car company usally has a extra gas 5 to 10 litters till your car runs out of fuel so even if the fuel lights go red you have still enough to look for a gas station. dont worry unless you fuel guage is busted always put gas on your car and get your guage fixed.
No matter what you do at the stop lights, you still use gas to accelerate when the light turns green. I suggest you pray till you get to the closest gas station. Don’t go empty, it may be very hard to restart your vehicle.
i whould NOT PUT IT IN PARK .THE PERSON BEHIND WILL THINK ITS TIME TO GO IF YOU LET OFF THE BREAK AND SLAM INTO YOU……it doesnt make a differance if the car is in park or not…it still burns about the same amount of gas….
it doesn’t matter if you put in park or normal brake, fill up your tank so you don’t have to worry about that!!!!!
In park or on the breaks, your car is still idle and will consume gas. Turning the engine off at stop lights could cost a lot of gas to get the engine starting. Your best bet would be to fill the tank.
its a bird its a plain nope its a gas station dun tu dun ta ta da da DUH!!
I always love it when some self appointed expert moron comes along and says not to run your car low on gas because the pump will suck to dirt from the bottom of the tank. Newsflash dummies, the pick-up is always on the bottom of the tank so if there is every any dirt or water, it will get picked up all the time.
Dirt and water have alway been and will continue to be heavier than gasoline.
DON’T DO IT !!!!
It dosent make a a different cause you waste gas everytime you accelerate not when you brake.
Obviously on their way to a gas station you ass clowns
