Public transport in USA?
New York City’s uniquely high rate of public transit use makes it one of the most energy-efficient cities in the United States. Gasoline consumption in the city today is at the rate of the national average in the 1920s.

It is an opportunity for private players to start bus services and make money; save fuel. Look at Europe.

Comments on Public transport in USA?
Americans like their independence and their suburban houses with lawns. Public transportation works best in areas with high density: lots of people living nearby. America is too spread out for bus service. European cities are much closer. Also, Europe has higher gas prices, which makes public transportation more attractive. However, cities on the east coast with higher density tend to have better public transportation.
