My ’03 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6G revs at 1000 when idle. How can I change its idling to save on petrol/gas?
As per title states, thecar revs at a stable 1000 rev/min on the dashboard and I’ve also noticed that I use more petrol/gas on this car than my BMW 318i!!! I know there’s a way of tweaking it’s idling but I don’t know where it is. Please advise.

Throttle positioning sensor or dirty gummed up throttle body, if dirty disconnect the air intake hose to the throttle body and spray crab/fuel injector cleaner, let vehicle sit for 5/10 min. re-attach hose and try it, you might also lubricate the throttle linkage.
